What is Revision Rhinoplasty?

Revision rhinoplasty refers to surgery that is intended to reshape the nose in a patient who has previously had a rhinoplasty.

While the rhinoplasty itself may be performed for cosmetic reasons, additional procedures such as septoplasty, turbinate reduction, or nasal vestibular stenosis repair are often performed on conjunction with the revision rhinoplasty to improve the patient’s ability to breathe through the nose. In these cases, insurance coverage may help to offset a large portion of the cost of the surgeon’s fee, the surgery center fee, and the anesthesia fee, particularly with in-network providers.

Patients are often distraught after having been through a prior rhinoplasty procedure and still being displeased with the appearance or function of their nose. For this reason, it is of great importance to seek multiple consultations with board-certified surgeons who specialize in revision rhinoplasty, to select the optimal fit and help ensure the best possible results.
